Berlin-based cybersecurity startup revel8 has raised €5.7 million in funding to expand its platform that replicates cyberattacks using generative AI and open-source intelligence. The round was led by Peak, with participation from Fortino Capital and Merantix Capital.
Founded in 2023, revel8’s technology allows enterprises to simulate sophisticated cyberattacks within hours, compared to the weeks or months traditional red-teaming and penetration testing often require.
By leveraging generative AI, the platform continuously adapts to new vulnerabilities and attack strategies, giving security teams real-time insight into potential threats.
The company says its system can replicate emerging threat vectors almost immediately after they surface, helping organizations strengthen defenses against evolving adversaries. This approach aims to reduce both the time and cost associated with manual security testing.

The funding will be used to scale revel8’s engineering and research teams in Berlin, as well as accelerate market expansion across Europe and North America.
The startup also plans to enhance integrations with enterprise security stacks, positioning itself as a complementary tool to existing SOC and threat intelligence workflows.
Cybersecurity startups have attracted strong investor interest in 2025, with AI-driven platforms gaining particular traction as enterprises struggle to keep pace with increasingly complex attacks.
revel8 joins a growing group of European firms leveraging AI to strengthen defensive capabilities, positioning itself in a market where both corporates and governments are seeking faster, more adaptive solutions.
